She posed for the paparazzi They took all the photos they could. She was wearing this expensive gown that made her look like an angel, only she was not.I walked over in a very conspicuous manner - actually that's an understatement. I alighted from my personal limo, making sure it was my feet that came out first. I just had to let the paparazzi get a shot at my sapphire studded six inch high heels. They looked so good, heaven - bound, as a matter of fact. I took my sweet time to make sure that the paps got a suitable angle of my shoes, suitable enough to be put on the front cover of a magazine, then I let the rest of me come out.
I could hear people ooh-ing and aah-ing as they marveled at my beauty. The starlet who had stolen everyone's attention a few moments before was cast away and I became the new epicentre. I let out a smile good enough to convince the devil to come to the light. That was the smile I was famed for. It had all the guys melting down to the floor and all the girls jealous (too bad, someone has to be outstanding). With the help of my brightening smile, my gown took the show. A long one-shoulder couture sapphire blue gown with diamonds studded close to the hemline. At the point where it reached my knees, the gown parted into two and formed a train behind me exposing twenty-four carats of diamonds at the hemlines. As they say, diamonds are a girl's best friend, and I was far from done with them. A silver chain seated on my neck had an L made of diamonds. My hair was done in a stylish up-do bun with diamonds studded in. Come on, I am Liya Summers, I can't go for anything less. And besides, I have the money.
"Liya! Good evening! Talk about saving the best for last!"
That was Jodie Kania, the nosiest of all paparazzi. I smiled as I approached her. "Jodie!"
I tried my best to not seem as fake as I knew I was being.
"Oh Liya, you look marvelous! I'm sure you'll take Best Dressed!"
"Well thank you, Jodie, but I have to get going. I wouldn't want to miss the show you know,"
"Good luck to you."
I waved and walked off. I never liked having long interviews with the paps, they could turn anything you say into a nightmare. I reached the auditorium where the awards show was to take place. There already were people inside. I spotted my boyfriend Jake in a corner doing what seemed to be like whispering a lot of sweet nothings into Emerald's ear while Emerald giggled like a ten year old with a sugar crush. I walked over. "Emerald, Jake, would you mind getting a room?"
They turned to face me. Emerald was the chiquita who had taken over the spotlight with the paps before my arrival. The look she gave me was enough to make anyone's blood coagulate. She whispered something into Jake's ear then walked away. Finally. "Good evening to you too," said Jake as he leaned in to give me a peck on the cheek.
"Stop making it so obvious, you know the contract."
