Thank you Komal Munawar of The Hamster Ball for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award. The Blogger Recognition Award is an award that recognizes the hard work and dedication that bloggers put into their work. The rules of the award are simple:
The story behind Randomly Creative.
I have been writing for most of my life. I actually wrote about this recently in a guest post on The Hamster Ball titled ‘How I Fell in Love With Words’. I used to write short stories and novellas in hard cover counter books, and circulate the books in schools for people to read. I was thrilled with the feedback I got, and, when I finished high school, I started my blog, Randomly Creative, as the next installment in my writing journey. A review of my blog by YourStoryAfrica called it a ‘literary haven’ so I must be doing something right.
Advice to new bloggers.
Keep calm and carry on. You’re going to feel like giving up quite often, but stick with it. Blogging is quite the learning curve. It may look easy, but it’s really hard. Blogging is a job in itself. There’s also a lot of technical stuff involved, so be prepared to learn that, but also know that most people outsource the technical work, which you can do too if you’d like; but, be warned, that costs money. Join blogging groups on social media for support; for example, follow @bloggerLS and @BloggersTribe on Twitter to connect with other bloggers. When you have questions, you can always reach out to other bloggers. Don’t expect to be perfect; perfection is a moving target. Most importantly, give yourself regular breaks to recharge.
