Once upon a time, two babies were born in two families of a city. When the first child was born, the weather was crumby and it was raining. That is why they named him Badman. The second one was born when the rain stopped and the weather became sunny. So they named him Goodman. They both grew up in one community.
One day, Badman lied to Goodman saying, "I will take you to the park," and took him to a desert.
Then, Goodman curiously asked, "Why did you bring me here?"
"Why does everyone praise you calling Goodman? I took you here to kill you," said Badman.
"My dear friend, please don't kill me. Just grasp both of my eyes instead, " Goodman said.
Badman grasped both Goodman's eyes and returned to the city alone. Goodman was left in the desert: without his eyes and food. At last, he stood up and weakly started walking. He stumbled onto some stairs and tardily went down. There was a big plane tree and a basin full of water near it. Goodman lay down near the tree thinking, "Maybe someone who comes to get water will help me."
People who came to get water gave bread and tea to Goodman. Days kept on passing like this. One day, when he was sleeping under the plane tree, four parrots flew to the tree and started talking. Goodman quietly listened to their talk.
The first parrot said, "Do you know what kind of things are happening in the world. One man is living without eyes. If he climbs this tree up and rubs the highest leaf to his eyes, he will be able to see again."
The second parrot said, "In the other side, a mouse is taking one elderly woman's money. If someone hits the mouse with a pebble, it will run away and the money can be taken back."
The third parrot said, "In a village of this country, brothers are quarreling about the will of their dead father. If someone buys their house and digs under a poplar, a jar of golden coins can be found."
The fourth parrot said, "The King's daughter, the princess, is sick an no one can cure her. He will marry his daughter to whoever heals her. The black cat in their kingdom loves the princess. He is an evil hiding behind a cat's silhouette. If someone kills the black cat and rubs his blood to the princess, she will be mended."
After the parrots flew away, Goodman started doing the things he heard. He climbed up the plane tree, rubbed the highest leaf to his right eye, then his left eye and could see again. He found the mouse, hit him with a pebble and got all the money. He bought the house of quarreling brothers. He dug under the poplar and found the jar of golden coins. He became rich and happily went to the bazaar. While he was shopping, he heard the advertisers saying that the princess still needed a doctor, so Goodman went to the kingdom saying that he was a doctor. When he came into the kingdom, the king said, "If you cure my daughter, I will let her marry you, but if you don't, your head will be cut off. 39 doctors have been killed, you will be the 40th."
Goodman neared the princess and ordered servants to bring the kingdom's black cat. He killed the cat and rubbed its blood on the princess. She was cured at last. The king was happy and the princess got married to Goodman.
One day, Goodman told the king that he missed his parents. The king provided him with lots of money and a few servants to go with him. Goodman's parents welcomed him delightedly. His friends came to see him. The news of Goodman's return reached Badman. "Now he will kill me," Badman thought and didn't even go to see Goodman. However, Goodman went to see Badman himself and said, "I became so rich because of you. You, not knowing it yourself, helped me a lot."
After this, Badman started begging Goodman to grasp his eyes and to leave him in the desert. Goodman replied, "No, I can't do that. I can't grasp your eyes."
Badman kept on asking and begging. Then, Goodman grasped his eyes and left him near the basin.
One day, the same parrots flew back and one of them said, "I think that someone has been listening to our talks. The man without eyes is able to see again. The woman's money has been taken from mice. The house has been sold and the princess has been cured. Come on friends, let's fly down and see whom the secret agent is!"
The parrots flew down and saw Badman laying under the tree, and ate him. Goodman, along with the princess lived happily ever after.
